نخود در دیگThe Chickpea in the Pot
Page 1. A woman was cooking chickpeas in a pot. One chickpea bobbed up and down in the hot water and cried, “Why are you boiling me? What have I done to you?”
Page 2. The cook gently guided the chickpea back into the pot with her spoon. The chickpea said, “I grew happily in the field. Why must I endure this difficulty now?”
Page 3. The cook replied, “I am not cooking you out of anger. I want you to become tender and flavorful, so you can be nourishing food that gives people strength.”
Page 4. The chickpea remembered the days when it grew. Soil, rain, and sunshine had each changed it and helped it become larger. Perhaps this new stage was also part of its growth.
Page 5. The chickpea became calm and said, “Then cook me and help me become complete. I trust your way.” The cook added fragrant herbs and spices and gently stirred the pot.
Page 6. The chickpeas became a warm, nourishing meal and brought happiness to the table. Sometimes life’s difficulties help us become more prepared, more caring, and more useful to others.
