دیوار

In the swift passage of cold moments,

در گذشت پر شتاب لحظه های سرد

your wild eyes, within their own silence,

چشمهای وحشی تو در سکوت خویش

build a wall around me.

گرد من دیوار میسازد

I flee from you along the road's untravelled paths,

می گریزم از تو در بیراهه های راه

to see the plains within the moon's haze,

تا ببینم دشتها را در غبار ماه

to wash my body in the waters of springs of light,

تا بشویم تن به آب چشمه های نور

in the colourful mist of a warm summer morning,

در مه رنگین صبح گرم تابستان

to fill my skirts with wild lilies,

پر کنم دامان ز سوسن های صحرایی

to hear the roosters' cries from the roof of a farmer's cottage.

بشنوم بانگ خروسان را ز بام کلبه دهقان

I flee from you so that, in the lap of the wilderness,

می گریزم از تو تا در دامن صحرا

I may press my feet hard against the grass,

سخت بفشارم به روی سبزه ها پا را

or drink the coldness of the grasses.

یا بنوشم سرد علفها را

I flee from you so that, upon an abandoned shore,

می گریزم از تو تا در ساحلی متروک

from the heights of rocks lost in a cloud of darkness,

از فراز صخره های گمشده در ابر تاریکی

I may watch the dizzying dance of storms upon the sea.

بنگرم رقص دوار انگیز طوفانهای دریا را

In a distant dusk,

در غروبی دور

like wild doves, I may gather beneath my wings

چون کبوترهای وحشی زیر پر گیرم

the plains, the mountains, the skies,

دشتها را کوهها را آسمانها را

and hear from among the dry bushes

بشنوم از لابلای بوته های خشک

the joyful songs of the birds of the wilderness.

نغمه های شادی مرغان صحرا را

I flee from you so that, far from you, I may open

می گریزم از تو تا دور از تو بگشایم

the road to the city of desire,

راه شهر آرزو را

and within the city…

و درون شهر ...

the heavy golden door of the palace of dreams.

درب سنگین طلایی قصر رویا را

But your eyes, with their silent cry,

لیک چشمان تو با فریاد خاموشش

make the roads dark within my gaze.

راهها را در نگاهم تار میسازد

Still, within the darkness of their mystery,

همچنان در ظلمت رازش

they build a wall around me.

گرد من دیوار میسازد

At last, one day…

عاقبت یکروز ...

I shall escape the enchantment of the eyes of doubt.

میگریزم از فسون دیده تردید

I shall seep like fragrance from the colourful flower of dreams.

می تروام همچو عطری از گل رنگین رویا ها

I shall creep into the waves of the night breeze's hair.

می خزم در موج گیسوی نسیم شب

I shall go to the shore of the sun.

می روم تا ساحل خورشید

In a world asleep in everlasting peace,

در جهانی خفته در آرامشی جاوید

I shall slip softly into the bed of a golden cloud.

نرم میلغزم درون بستر ابری طلایی رنگ

The fingers of light pour upon the joyful sky

پنجه های نور میریزد بروی آسمان شاد

a design rich in rhythm.

من از آنجا سر خوش و آزاد

I shall gaze upon a world whose roads your enchanting eyes

دیده می دوزم به دنیایی که چشم پر فسون تو
