01I have drunk the night,
02and I weep upon these broken branches.
03Leave me alone,
04O wandering, feverish eye!
05Leave me alone with the pain of being.
06Do not let me pluck apart the dream of my existence.
07Do not let me raise my head from solitude's dark pillow,
08and cling to the skirt of dreams without warp or weft.
09The whitenesses of deception
10chant their boasts upon shadowless pillars.
11Look at my dream's broken talisman,
12hanging uselessly from the pearl chain of my eye.
13Tell that one,
14O drunken, infernal heartbeat!
15Tell that one: I have drunk the black breeze of your eyes.
16I have drunk it, so that I am forever restless.
17O wandering hell!
18Leave me alone.
