I Will Greet the Sun Again
English translation draft, awaiting review.
01I shall greet the sun again,
02the little stream which flowed within me,
03the clouds which were my long thoughts,
04the painful growth of the garden's poplars, which with me
05passed through dry seasons,
06the flocks of crows
07which brought me the fragrance of nocturnal fields,
08bringing it as a gift,
09my mother, who lived in the mirror,
10and was the shape of my old age,
11and the earth, whose inflamed interior my desire for repetition
12filled with green seeds—I shall greet them again.
13I am coming, coming, coming,
14with my hair: the continuation of smells beneath the earth,
15with my eyes: the dense experiences of darkness,
16with the bushes I have gathered from the thickets beyond the wall.
17I am coming, coming, coming,
18and the threshold fills with love.
19And upon the threshold, those who love,
20and the girl who still stands there,
21upon the love-filled threshold, I shall greet again.
