THE AVALANCHE OF SUNLIGHT · POEM 17 OF 32
English translation draft, awaiting review.
01The rain-soaked garden drank the light.
02A tremor ran through the wet grasses:
03the figure came into the garden, luminous within,
04its shadow lost in the rises and falls.
05The branch bent toward its path, drunk with fruit.
06The figure was beyond the world of leaf and fruit.
07The garden brimmed with green seepings.
08The figure was greener within, more overflowing.
او.
09Along its path, a tree came alive.
10Its fruit was the twin of terror, of the same color.
11A ray fell into its hidden depths:
12it had seen that fruit in an unfamiliar dream.
13In the frenzy of picking, it strayed from itself.
14Its hand trembled. It feared the tree.
15The passion for picking uprooted fear:
16the hand came, picked the fruit from the tree.
