01

Smoke rises from my retreat.

02

When will anyone learn of my ruins?

03

I speak with my scorched inward self.

04

When will my story reach its end?

05

I let go of the hem of night

06

to cling to the tresses of dawn.

07

I threw myself from the shore into the water,

08

yet knew nothing of the sea's depths.

09

The design upon the walls' bodies broke.

10

No one saw any color in this realm again.

11

Day and night, imagination fixes its gaze

12

from the heart's depths upon the image of hope.

13

Since I set foot in this stopping place,

14

I have broken away from the caravan's bell.

15

Though this fire burns me to the soul,

16

I have set my heart upon this burning.

17

Darkness draws its feet away from the rooftops:

18

morning smiles upon the road of my city.

19

Smoke still rises from my solitude.

20

I speak with my scorched inward self.
