One day,

روزی

I shall come, and bring a message.

خواهم آمد. و پیامی خواهم آورد.

I shall pour light into veins.

در رگ‌ها نور خواهم ریخت.

And I shall call out: O you whose baskets are full of sleep! I have brought an apple, the sun's red

و صدا خواهم درداد: ای سبدهاتان پر خواب! سیب آوردم. سیب

سرخ خورشید.

I shall come, give a jasmine flower to the beggar.

خواهم آمد، گل یاسی به گدا خواهم داد.

To the beautiful woman with leprosy, I shall give another earring.

زن زیبای جذامی راء گوشواری دیگر خواهم بخشید.

I shall tell the blind one: what a sight the garden is!

کور را خواهم گفت: چه تماشا دارد باغ!

I shall become a peddler, wander the lanes, cry out:

دوره‌گردی خواهم شد، کوچه‌ها را خواهم گشت، جار خواهم زد:

dew, dew, dew!

آی شبنم, شبنم, شبنم.

A passerby will say: truly, the night is dark. I shall give him a

I shall tear the cloud apart.

ابر را، پاره خواهم کرد.

I shall knot eyes to the sun, hearts to love, shadows

من گره خواهم زد. چشمان را با خورشید. دل‌ها را با عشق. سایه‌ها

to water, branches to wind.

را با آب. شاخه‌ها را با باد.

And I shall join the child's sleep to the cicadas' murmur.

و به هم خواهم پیوست. خواب کودک را با زمزمه زنجره‌ها.

I shall send kites into the air.

بادبادک‌ها، به هوا خواهم برد.

I shall water flowerpots.

گلدان‌ها. آب خواهم داد.

I shall come, pour the green grass of caresses before horses and cows.

خواهم آمد. پیش اسبان. گاوان. علف سبز نوازش خواهم ریخت.

To a thirsty mare, I shall bring a bucket of dew.

مادیانی تشنه سطل شبنم را خواهم آورد.

An aged donkey on the road: I shall brush away its flies.

خر فرتوتی در راه. من مگس‌هایش را خواهم زد.

I shall come, plant a carnation on every wall.

خواهم آمد سر هر دیواری. میخکی خواهم کاشت.

At the foot of every window, I shall read a poem.

پای هر پنجره‌ای. شعری خواهم خواند.

To every crow, I shall give a pine.

هر کلاغی را. کاجی خواهم داد.

I shall tell the snake: what splendor the frog has!

مار را خواهم گفت: چه شکوهی دارد غوک!

I shall reconcile.

آشتی خواهم داد..

I shall make familiar.

آشنا خواهم کرد.

I shall walk.

راه خواهم رفت.

I shall eat light.

نور خواهم خورد.

I shall love.

دوست خواهم داشت.
