01

He was great,

02

and was of today's people.

03

And he was related to all the open horizons,

04

and how well he understood the tone of water and earth.

05

His voice

06

was shaped like reality's disheveled sorrow.

07

And his eyelids

08

showed the course of the elements' pulse

09

to us.

10

And his hands

11

turned the pages of generosity's clear

12

air,

13

and made kindness

14

migrate toward us.

15

He was shaped like his own solitude,

16

and interpreted his time's most loving curve

17

for the mirror.

18

And in the manner of rain, he was full of the freshness of repetition.

19

And in the style of a tree,

20

he spread amid the well-being of light.

21

He always called to the childhood of wind.

22

He always tied the thread of conversation

23

to water's clasp.

24

For us, one night,

25

he performed the green prostration of affection

26

so plainly

27

that we stroked the feeling of the earth's surface,

28

and grew fresh like the accent of a bucket of water.

29

And many times we saw

30

with how many baskets

31

he went to pick a cluster of glad tidings.

32

But he could not

33

sit facing the clarity of doves,

34

and went to the edge of nothing,

35

and lay down behind the patience of lights,

36

and never thought

37

how alone, amid the disarray of doors' pronunciation,

38

to eat an apple,

39

how alone we remained.
