01

Ah, what splendor there is in surfaces' giving of themselves!

02

O noble cancer of seclusion!

03

May my surface be bestowed upon you!

04

Someone came,

05

as far as the muscles of paradise

06

extended my hand.

07

Someone came with the morning light of religions

08

amid the buttons of his shirt.

09

From the dry grass of ancient verses,

10

he wove a window.

11

Like the day-before-yesterdays of thought, he was young.

12

His throat, with the blue qualities of rivers,

13

was filled.

14

Someone came and took my books.

15

He drew a roof of flowers' proportion above my head.

16

He broadened my evening with repeated windows.

17

He placed my table beneath the spirituality of rain.

18

Then we sat.

19

We spoke of tree-filled minutes,

20

of words whose lives passed amid water.

21

Our opportunity, beneath fitting clouds,

22

like the bewildered body of a sudden dove,

23

had a pleasant volume.

24

It was midnight. From the tumult of fruit,

25

the outline of trees became strange.

26

The damp thread of our sleep went to waste.

27

Then,

بعد

28

the hand bathed in the body's beginning.

29

Then, in the wet entrails of the garden elm,

30

it became morning.
